Grabouw Farm Workers Strike Continues Now in its 2nd Week

The farm workers strike in Grabouw in the Western Cape is now in its second week. According to reporter, Athi Mtongana, who was on the scene, workers were joined by residents in support of farm workers' wage increase.

On Monday, a stakeholders meeting were held inside the local police station following yet another protest action, which has led to periodic closure of the N2 high way - once again.

Over the past week, motorists had to vent by following alternative routes due to multiple road closures on the N2 Outbound at Sir Lowry's Pass Road.

Farm Workers say they are currently earning a little more than R160 per day. The workers demands R250 per day.
